Palestinian woman hurt in Israeli attack

Mexico Star Saturday 13th December, 2003

Palestinian medical sources said a Palestinian woman was wounded Saturday during an Israeli attack in the Khan Younes refugee camp in the southern Gaza Strip.

The sources said Dina al-Zamtah, 43, was taken into surgery at the government-run Nasser Hospital after being hit by a bullet in her right shoulder.

They described her condition as moderate.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli soldiers, based inside their military compound near the Jewish settlement of Jani Tal, opened fire at Palestinian homes in the refugee camp.

They said the soldiers fired their machine guns indiscriminately at the Palestinian homes, injuring the woman.
