SAN FRANCISCO -- Apple Inc. said Thursday that financial results for its fiscal 2020 third quarter ended June 27 with quarterly revenue of 59.7 billion U.S. dollars, up by 11 percent year on year, with quarterly earnings per diluted share of 2.58 dollars, up by 18 percent.
"Apple's record June quarter was driven by double-digit growth in both Products and Services and growth in each of our geographic segments," said Tim Cook, Apple's CEO.

HANOI -- Between January and July, 7,996 traffic accidents occurred in Vietnam, killing 3,791 people, severely injuring 2,366 people and slightly injuring 3,484 others, according to the Traffic Police Department on Friday.
The numbers of traffic accidents, deaths, severe injuries and slight injuries dropped by 18.6 percent, 15.1 percent, 15 percent and 25.5 percent, respectively, against the same period last year.

VIENTIANE -- Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith spoke highly of China-Laos railway construction achievements when inspecting the construction of the railway's Vientiane station on Thursday.

SEOUL -- South Korea's industrial output grew last month, with both consumption and investment being on the rise, statistical office data showed Friday.
The seasonally adjusted production in all industries, which exclude the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, gained 4.2 percent in June from a month earlier, according to Statistics Korea.
