TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Oct. 26 (PIA) - The Department of Social Welfare and Development here has reiterated that poor families are the priority beneficiaries of the second tranche of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
They are the waitlisted during the first tranche and those identified by their respective local government units (LGUs) that were under granular lockdown.
ARD for Operations Lucia Alan said they are waiting for the list coming from LGUs but as of now, no one submitted.
"Our LGUs are now caution in choosing the would-be beneficiaries," Allan said citing what happened in the previous SAP where the Department of the Interior and Local Government called the attention of some LGUs for some irregularities in choosing beneficiaries.
SAP 2 beneficiaries are entitled to 5,100 financial assuaistance from the department and have until December 22, 2020 to implement.
Brendan Jansen Tangan, regional information officer said there were around 676,098 beneficiaries received subsidy out of the 699,509 target. (MDCT/GVB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
