FRANKFURT, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed down on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index down 43.19 points, or 0.31 percent, to close at 13,950.04 points.
European multinational online food-delivery service Delivery Hero lost 6.78 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by energy group RWE and automotive supplier Continental which lost 2.28 percent and 1.95 percent respectively.
Deutsche Bank gained 2.52 percent, becoming the top gainer. Material manufacturer Covestro and automotive manufacturer Volkswagen advanced 2.45 percent and 2.03 percent respectively.
Multinational software corporation SAP was the most traded share with a turnover of 249.72 million euros (302.99 million U.S. dollars).
China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 4.18 percent to close at 2.223 euros per share on Monday.
