MONTERREY, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Mexico international midfielder Sebastian Cordova struck late as Tigres UANL advanced to the Liga MX Clausura final with a 1-0 away victory over Monterrey on Saturday.
The 25-year-old playmaker broke the deadlock in the 79th minute of their semifinal second leg with a powerful header after Luis Quinones' cross from the right flank.
The result handed the visitors a 2-1 win on aggregate after the teams drew 1-1 in the first leg.
Tigres will meet either America or Guadalajara in the final, to be played over two legs on May 25 and 28.
America won the first leg of their semifinal 1-0 at home, with the return fixture to be played in Guadalajara on Sunday.
