WASHINGTON, D.C.: The Pentagon said this week that it has asked the military to find ways to cut about $50 billion from the 2026 budget.
This money would be redirected to support President Donald Trump's top defense priorities.
According to Robert Salesses, who is acting as deputy defense secretary, "The Department will create a list of possible cuts to help fund these priorities and refocus on its main goal of preventing and winning wars."
These cuts would amount to eight percent of the Biden Administration's planned 2026 budget and would be used for programs that match President Trump's defense goals.
