Madhubani (Bihar) [India], April 24 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 26 people were killed and said that the whole nation is standing against terrorists
Addressing a public rally in Madhubani, Bihar CM said, 'A terror attack took place in Pahalgam of J&K, which claimed the lives of several people... This is a very sad incident, and we condemn this act. We extend our condolences to the families of the victims, and we stand strong with them...The whole nation is standing against terrorism, and I thank PM Modi for that, too.'
Terrorists attacked tourists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam on Tuesday, killing 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen while leaving several others injured, in one of the deadliest attacks in the valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed.
Further, speaking at the launch of development projects worth over Rs 13,480 crores by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Madhubani, CM Nitish Kumar targeted the opposition, accusing them of doing nothing and said that his government has constantly worked for the development of Bihar since coming to power back in 2005.
'Back in 2005, the situation was terrible; they used to do nothing. We are constantly working for the development of Bihar. We have worked across all sectors. We increased the budget to Rs 34,000 crore in 2006. This year, the Rs 3,18,000 crore have been allocated to Bihar.' Nitish Kumar said.
'We did 'Pragti Yatra' in 38 districts and passed new schemes based on our analysis. The government allocated Rs 50,000 crores for that,' Nitish Kumar said.
Nitish Kumar assured the public that JD (U) will never go back in alliance with RJD and termed it a 'mistake'
'We made a mistake; We will never go back with them. They created a mess. We are doing so much work now. We will do all the work for your benefit, and the central government continually supports us. Bihar will make progress,' Nitish Kumar said.
PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth over Rs 13,480 crore in Bihar's Madhubani today.
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for an LPG bottling plant with a rail unloading facility at Hathua in Gopalganj District, Bihar, worth approximately Rs 340 crore. This will help streamline the supply chain and improve the efficiency of bulk LPG transportation.
Boosting power infrastructure in the region, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 1,170 crore and also inaugurated multiple projects worth over Rs 5,030 crore in the power sector in Bihar under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme.
To boost rail connectivity across the nation, the Prime Minister flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express between Saharsa and Mumbai, the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail between Jaynagar and Patna, and trains between Pipra and Saharsa, as well as Saharsa and Samastipur.
He also inaugurated the Supaul Pipra rail line, the Hasanpur Bithan Rail line, and two 2-lane rail overbridges at Chapra and Bagaha. He dedicated the Khagaria-Alauli Rail line. These projects will improve connectivity and lead to the overall socio-economic development of the region. (ANI)
