Ajmer (Rajasthan) [India], April 26 (ANI): Rajasthan's Water resources minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Suresh Singh Rawat launched a no holds barred attack on Pakistan on Saturday, claiming that the neighbouring country 'kills our people while drinking water from our land,' blaming them for the Pahalgam terror attack which took place on April 22.
The minister further claimed that if the water of the Indus River flowed from Pakistan to India instead, then the country would have obstructed the river long ago; however, India fulfilled its responsibility, but Pakistan drank the same water and killed our people instead.
'If the water from the rivers in the treaty were flowing from Pakistan to India, Pakistan would have obstructed it long back. Upholding their responsibility, India gave Pakistan water, but even after drinking the water that comes from our land, they are killing our people,' the minister told ANI.
While condemning the incident, he lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement of assuring people that the government will 'pursue them to the ends of the earth.'
'However much we condemn this attack in Pahalgam, Pakistan commits such cowardly acts from time to time, and there seems to be no end in sight, but now our government is strict. PM has also stated that we will teach a lesson to Pakistan, to whichever terrorist is responsible for this,' Minister Rawat said.
'Killing unarmed people based on religion is inhumane and intolerable. The whole country is standing with the Prime Minister and the Home Minister,' he added.
Earkier, PM Modi had said during a rally in Bihar that India will not rest until 'justice' is pursued and issued a stern warning in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack and said that India will 'pursue the terrorists to the end of the earth.'
'On April 22, terrorists killed innocent people of the country in J-K's Pahalgam... The country is in mourning and in pain following this incident. We stand with the families of the victims. Today, from the soil of Bihar, India will identify, track and punish every terrorist, their handlers and their backers. We will pursue them to the end of the earth. Terrorism will never break India's spirit,' the PM had said on April 24 (Thursday).
Since the attack, the Army is on a high alert, launching several search operations to neutralise the terrorists following the attack in Pahalgam on April 22, in which 26 people were killed.
The incident has sparked nationwide outrage, with widespread protests erupting across the country, demanding stricter action against Pakistan over the Pahalgam attack. (ANI)
