Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 29 (ANI): Congress leader Ajay Rai on Tuesday credited the development work in Rae Bareli to the Gandhi family and the Congress party, as Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi paid a visit to the constituencies of Rae Bareli and Amethi today.
Rai said that Rahul Gandhi had an 'old relationship' with the people of the constituencies and had always stood with their families.
'Rahul Gandhi keeps meeting the people of his area; he has an old relationship with the people there. He maintains relations with the public; he stands with their families and solves whatever problems they have... Whatever development has been done in Rae Bareli was done by the Gandhi family and the Congress,' Rai said.
Rahul Gandhi will be touring his parliamentary constituency, Raebareli, today and will head to Amethi on Wednesday.
This will be the second time this year that Rahul Gandhi will be visiting his parliamentary constituency, Raebareli. During his visit in February, the Congress MP engaged with local students and residents, sparking conversations about education, employment, and community development.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari also commented on Rahul Gandhi's visit and referred to his decision to return from abroad following the terror attack in Pahalgam.
'There is a special thing about the Gandhi family: in addition to fulfilling their national and internal obligations, they take good care of their constituencies. We salute Rahul Gandhi for cutting short his foreign trip after the Pahalgam attack,' Tiwari said.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Rahul Gandhi, along with Congress Rajya Sabha MP Sonia Gandhi, met a delegation from the Progressive International in Delhi. The Progressive International launched in May 2020 with a mission to unite, organise and mobilise the world's progressive forces.
'CPP Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji and LoP Shri @RahulGandhi met with a delegation from Progressive International at 10 Janpath, New Delhi,' Congress's official page wrote in a post on X.
The Lok Sabha LoP also wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging the government to convene a special session of both Houses of Parliament following the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. (ANI)
