Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 14 (ANI): Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Atishi, on Saturday, met with the people at Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad, who were injured in the crash incident involving a London-bound Air India flight.
Describing the incident as 'heartbreaking', the former Delhi CM extended her and the party's condolences and expressed solidarity with the affected families.
Atishi also noted the death of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani during the crash and stated that the party workers in Gujarat are present to help the administration and local people in every possible way during the crisis.
'The accident that happened in Ahmedabad was heartbreaking. We have come to express our condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. Local people, people studying in medical college, and former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani ji have died in this accident. Our condolences are with all of them. Aam Aadmi Party workers of Gujarat are ready to help the administration and local people in every possible way,' Atishi stated.

The AAP leader further elaborated on her experience during the visit in a post on X, expressing her gratitude to the first responders during the crash.
'Came to Ahmedabad today. Met the people injured in the Air India plane crash. My heart was shaken after hearing about the entire incident from the doctors of the Civil Hospital. My salute to all the first-responders - doctors, administration, fire service, local residents. It is a very virtuous act to come forward to help people in such a difficult situation. All the local leaders and workers of Aam Aadmi Party are present to provide all possible help to the administration, families, and the hospital,' Atishi stated.
On Thursday, the Air India flight AI171 was en route to London from Ahmedabad when it crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhai Patel International Airport, ramming into a doctors' hostel of BJ Medical College in the Meghani Nagar area in Gujarat's Ahmedabad.
There were 242 people on board the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members. Of the passengers, 241 died in the crash. The lone survivor, identified as Vishwashkumar Ramesh, a British national of Indian origin, sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment. (ANI)
