New Delhi [India], September 2 (ANI): Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale strongly condemned derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's late mother, saying 'it was an insult to every mother in the country.'
'PM Modi said it was an insult to every mother in the country...The people of Bihar will teach a lesson to those who hurled abuses at PM Modi's mother...,' Athawale told ANI on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at an event in Bihar, responded to the derogatory remarks made against him and his late mother, saying that these 'naamdaar' people were born with a silver spoon in their mouths.
'The struggles (Tapasya) of a poor mother, the suffering of her son--these young princes born into royal families cannot understand. These 'naamdaar' people were born with a silver spoon in their mouths. The power of the country and Bihar seems like an inheritance of their family to them,' PM Modi said.
He further criticised the Congress, saying the party has never tolerated backwards or extremely backwards people moving ahead. 'Congress has never tolerated a backwards or extremely backwards person moving ahead! They think that 'namdaars' have the right to abuse 'kaamdaars'... that is why they abuse,' he said.
The Prime Minister also lauded the role of women in defeating the RJD in Bihar, saying they were instrumental in removing the party from power. 'Bihar has come out of that darkness after a long battle. All you women of Bihar have played a very big role in removing RJD and defeating it repeatedly. That is why, be it the RJD or Congress, these people are most upset with you, women, today. These people want to take revenge on you; they are looking for an opportunity so that they can punish you,' he said.
PM Modi condemned the abusive remarks directed at his late mother, saying they were an insult to all mothers, sisters, and daughters in India. 'Mother is our world. Mother is our self-respect. I had not even imagined what happened a few days ago in this tradition-rich Bihar. My mother was abused from the stage of RJD-Congress in Bihar... These abuses are not just an insult to my mother. These are insults to the mothers, sisters and daughters of the country,' he said. (ANI)
